A girl whose dog savaged another pet to death on a walk was caught on CCTV leaving the area as if nothing had happened.

Film from the city of Zlatoust in south-central Russia's Chelyabinsk Oblast region shows a teenage girl walking her large pet dog.

The fighting-type dog sees a small pooch, that appears to be a Chihuahua, nearby and tries to get to it.

At first the girl stops it by holding its collar but it gets away from her and rushes over to the Chihuahua.

It is only a few seconds before she manages to get the large dog under control but by that time the little dog has been fatally wounded.

Then astoundingly, without giving the dead dog's tiny body a second glance, she secures her own pet back on the lead and walks away.

The released video has quickly gone viral with the majority of netizens being shocked by both woman's behaviour as well as that of her dog.

Some local commenters claimed to have worked out where the unnamed girl lives and said they would contact her parents.

Netizen 'spravedliviy' added: 'The dog is clearly dangerous and not properly trained. Aggressive dogs should be eliminated.'

And one identified as 'Zina Korzina' added: 'I am stunned that the girl simply continued walking down the street, as if nothing happened. It was someone's pet, just like hers. How mean of her.'
