Ajax have confirmed that Abdelhak Nouri has suffered "serious and permanent brain damage" after collapsing on Saturday in a pre-season friendly.
Ambulances and paramedics attended to the 20-year-old midfielder after he lay down on the pitch in clear discomfort after the 72nd minute in Austria.

Eredivisie club Ajax later revealed that Nouri, who passed medical checks 10 days before the Bremen friendly, was in a stable condition in hospital.
A statement on Tuesday said that doctors were “cautiously positive” about Nouri's condition, but Ajax have since had to confirm tragic news about the former Netherlands Under-19 international.
