CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) Brandon Better scored 26 points, Jadon Cohee added 25 – both career highs – and Southern Utah beat Long Beach State 94-89 on Wednesday night.

Better was fouled on a driving layup with 1:12 remaining and it bounced in off the back rim. He added the free throw for an 88-86 lead. Southern Utah made its next six free throws – with four by Better – to seal it. LBSU’s only field goal in the final three minutes came on Deishuan Booker’s 3-point play with nine seconds left.
