Rose gold iPhone apperently replaced with copper gold tone

Youtuber Danny Winget released what he claims are dummy prototypes of the iPhone 8, and said Apple has replaced the rose gold model for a copper gold tone.

There is no shortage of people desperate to know what the next iPhone will look like, almost as soon as the latest model has been released.

But it seems that iPhone fans need to be careful what they wish for, after the latest sneak peek at an alleged prototype of the iPhone 8 model had many Apple fans up in arms over the fact that the company is rumored to be eradicating the much-loved rose gold color option.

A video which purports to showcase prototype models of the latest iPhone claims that the basic 8 design will be available in just three shades: black, white, and copper gold - no rose gold.

YouTuber Danny Winget released the video on Thursday afternoon, with his revelations quickly sparking outrage

According to Winget, the tech giant will now offer three official colors: classic black, silver, and copper gold, a controversial alternative to the incredibly popular rose gold shade used for the iPhone 7.

'The [copper] shade is much darker [than the rose gold]. It's hard to even describe this color. I think it's pretty ugly. This is a drastic change from the rose gold color,’ said Winget in his video.

And he wasn't the only one left unimpressed with Apple's alleged decision to replace the rose gold iPhone with a copper gold color.

iPhone fans quickly took to social media to express their heartbreak over the potential end of the rose gold model.

Oh dear! The iPhone 8 is expected to come out this fall but many Twitter users said the fact that it might not come in rose gold means they no longer plan to upgrade to the new model

'I'll be keeping my Rose Gold 7 Plus... the white on the copper is hideous!' said one Twitter user.

'Looking at these rumors of the iPhone 8 colors and I'm begging Apple to not leave out the rose gold! That copper gold is ugly,' said another disappointed iPhone fan.

One of the dummies Winget showed had a white border that he said looked ‘hideous’ on the new copper gold color.

This white border would be another departure from the iPhone look we're used to.

However, Winget does mention that the color tones of the dummy models are usually not exactly what the actual iPhones end up looking like.

We'll just have to wait and see how iPhone fans react to the real thing when the iPhone 8 comes out next fall.
