Apprentice: Harrison Jones and Jade English on being fired

Lord Sugar dealt another blow on Wednesday night's episode of The Apprentice when he sent two candidates home in a shock double-elimination.

But despite the fact that Harrison Jones and Jade English have missed out on a place in the final five, both have revealed they're open to a future in TV.

'I am absolutely gutted to go at this point in the process,' Jade, 25, told MailOnline. 'But doing it has made me love broadcast journalism again. And so there are maybe some TV and radio opportunities I'd like to explore with my business.'

Jade's business is a service that assists people getting into their ideal careers; and Harrison, 27, has a healthy food brand.

But, like Jade he also doesn't rule out staying in TV. When asked if he'd ever consider Celebrity Big Brother [like other Apprentice candidates before him] he said: 'I would never say never – but I would have to take each opportunity as it comes.

'But everything would be for my business. I guess more PR is good as long as it's positive.'

Both explained how disappointed they were to be fired at this stage, when they were within only a couple of episodes from the finale.

'I was happy just to get on the show, but I was happy I did all the tasks,' Harrison said. 'I think leaving on this task was - not unfair - but I do think I did enough  to carry on to the final five.'

Harrison and Jade's last task saw them on a team together, selecting a fashion designer to represent at a show.

Going off after that task, it was probably not unfair, but I reckon I did enough to get to the final five,' said Harrison.

During the task, Jade was the Project Manager and admits that she 'can understand why Lord Sugar made the decision he did at the end of the day' but that she 'gave the task 110 per cent'.

But Harrison admitted that the fashion-themed task was not in his wheelhouse.

'When I saw the designs we were working with I thought it would be hard to sell,' he went on. 'When I saw them I know it would be an uphill struggle.'

Part of the failure of the task came down to the miscommunication between Jade and the designer, Helen.

'I'm actually good friends with her now - so no bridges have been burned there,' she insisted. 'I went to her London fashion show this year.'

Neither of this week's eliminated candidates begrudge Lord Sugar for firing them - although think that they would have made good business partners.

'If Lord Sugar didn’t see me as a business partner, hopefully someone else will,' Jade said.

Harrison added: 'How can you not respect him. He's a self-made millionaire. But if I'd made it further in the process I'd have won it.'

The Apprentice continues next Wednesday at 9PM on BBC One.
