EastEnders fans have a wild new theory about Linda Carter being in an explosive revenge plot twist
The character has clearly been keeping some secrets since her Albert Square return
EastEnders fans are convinced that Linda Carter is keeping a bomb-shell dark secret from her husband Mick.
Viewers of the hit BBC soap have been waiting to find out what the character has been dying to tell Mick since returning to the soap last month.
Ever since Linda - played by actress Kellie Bright - returned to the soap, she has been anxious around her on-screen husband (played by Danny Dyer).
When she left Albert Square back in 2016, she had been going to look after her mother - claiming she had suffered a stroke.
But when she returned, ‘stEnders fans were shocked to see that Linda’s mum was completely fine and healthy - suggesting the real reason for Linda’s absence was down to something else.
On Tuesday night it looked like Linda was about to clear her conscience to Mick - but then he got in there first with a confession of his own: he is in love with his daughter-in-law, Whitney.
EastEnders fans are now convinced that Linda is harbouring a secret - that she has been having an affair with supporting character Woody (played by Lee Ryan from Blue).
But Woody has also been revealed to have proposed to Whitney - and now fans are convinced it is all an elaborate revenge plan organised by Linda and Woody.
"#EastEnders Linda already knows about Mick & Whitney, Linda's having an affair with Woody and she told him to marry Whitney to get revenge!” suggested one fan on Twitter.
Another suggested: "I reckon Linda set Woody up to pretend to wanna be with Whitney because she knows about Whitney and Mick #EastEnders.”
A third asked: "Can you imagine if Linda is with Woody? Like together? And all this is part of their revenge plan #EastEnders.”
However fans might be on to a red herring - with Kellie herself talking about Albert Square’s current love scenario (with Kellie saying she doesn’t think Mick will leave Linda for Whitney)
"No, and Linda doesn’t think so either, certainly not to begin with," the actress told the Radio Times.
"She actually says to Mick: 'You don’t know what women are like, you don’t have a clue, you’re infatuated and had a crush and you think it’s love'."
