Aston Martin is looking at plans to list on the London stock market, which would give fans a chance to buy shares in the prestigious 104-year-old car maker.

The group could float as early as next year, according to a report by Bloomberg.

It is thought the luxury manufacturer, which is based in Warwickshire, could aim for a similar valuation to Ferrari, which listed in New York in 2015.

That could make Aston Martin worth about £2billion, even though it sells about 4,000 cars a year – fewer than half the number sold by Ferrari.

While not confirming the float, spokesman Simon Sproule said bosses were '100 per cent focused on the delivery of our seven-year business plan'.
