Re-creating 'Rendezvous' in Paris | The List #0450

Re-creating 'Rendezvous' in Paris | The List #0450

On this episode of The List, our hosts Jessi and Patrick travel to Paris to pay homage to the legendary short film "Rendezvous."

In the summer of 1976, an ambitious short film that came to be known as "Rendezvous" was created. In the original film, a driver zips through the nighttime streets of Paris, weaving in and out of traffic and completing dozens of wild maneuvers just to get to the top of a hill to meet up with a woman at sunrise. The piece is legendary in car enthusiast circles, so on this episode of The List, we decided to fly to Paris to pay homage to the piece by trying to (safely) re-create it.

First things first: A lot has changed in the City of Light in the past 40 years. In 2017, there are more cars, more stoplights, and way more people. These all presented huge challenges, but our hosts Jessi and Patrick weren't going to let that stop them. In the original film, the driver is behind the wheel of a Mercedes 450 SEL, but the sound effects are from a V-12 Ferrari 275 GTB. In our homage, we're driving an Audi TT-RS and piping in a few fun sounds from an Audi R8 Spyder to enhance the effect.

Does our crew manage to make a satisfactory run? As always, you'll have to watch the episode above to find out. And don't forget to subscribe to our Youtube page and like our Facebook page for more exclusive content from The List!
